Just a reminder that Lake Trout season will be closed from Sunday Sept. 16 to Friday Nov. 30th. During this time the lakers will be spawning on the rocks near the North and South towers and the fish are not to be targeted. If you do catch one, you must release it immediately.

Lake Trout caught September 6, 2010 drifting live herring between North tower and Rainbow Point.
You’ve got 4 days to go out there and catch some Lake Trout loaded with row!
Looking through my archives, this time of the year is always weird. If the weather stays decently warm, you can keep trying night fishing for rainbows. This 15 hour fishing trip from Late September of 2011 turned out to be one of my last successful trips of the season.
October’s too cold for night fishing and the lakers are still off limits. BUT, come December and we’ll be jigging Lakers!
